Description

Measure changes in the concentration of gases including carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), and ammonia (NH3) with this Breakout Garden compatible I2C breakout.

The MICS6814 sensor comprises three semiconductor gas sensors in a single package and can detect three different groups of gases referred to as reducing, oxidising, and NH3. Major gases detected include carbon monoxide (reducing), nitrogen dioxide (oxidising), and ammonia (NH3), with sensitivity to hydrogen, ethanol, and hydrocarbons as well.

This breakout allows qualitative measurement of gas concentration changes, useful for indoor and outdoor air quality monitoring, agricultural and vehicle pollution monitoring.

The sensor features a Nuvoton microcontroller for I2C and analog-digital conversion, sensor heater control, and a user-controllable RGB LED for status indication or gas concentration alert.

This board is Breakout Garden compatible, requiring no soldering to connect to Breakout Garden HATs or pHATs. Compatible with Raspberry Pi, Raspberry Pi Pico, and supports Python, C++, and MicroPython libraries.
