Description

The Adafruit LTR-303 Light Sensor is a simple and popular low-cost I2C digital light sensor that provides reliable and wide-ranging light measurements. Ideal for projects requiring detection of ambient light to adjust device brightness, robotic navigation, or day/night detection.

This sensor measures both Infrared and Visible+IR spectrums with 16-bit resolution, allowing calculations of human-visible light by subtracting the values. It supports configurable gain and integration time settings, measuring from 0 to 65,000+ lux.

Equipped with alert and IRQ capabilities, the LTR-303 can trigger pins above or below threshold values, aiding ultra-low power applications. Packaged on a STEMMA QT form factor PCB, it includes a voltage regulator and level shifting for compatibility with 3.3V and 5V devices.

The sensor provides I2C connectivity with STEMMA QT / Qwiic connectors, enabling solderless plug-and-play use with compatible cables. It is supported by CircuitPython and Arduino libraries for easy integration.
