Add some jazz & pizazz to your project with a color touchscreen LCD. This TFT display is big (3.5″ diagonal), bright (6 white-LED backlight), and colorful! It features 480×320 pixels with individual RGB pixel control – offering way more resolution than a black and white 128×64 display, and double the resolution of our 2.8″ TFT.
This display includes a capacitive touchscreen attached, allowing you to detect finger presses anywhere on the screen.
The display has a built-in controller with RAM buffering, so nearly no processing is required by your microcontroller. It can be used in two modes: 8-bit or SPI. 8-bit mode requires 8 digital data lines and 4 or 5 digital control lines (12 lines total). SPI mode uses only 5 pins but is slower.
The touchscreen communicates via I2C pins, with an optional IRQ pin for touch detection. The built-in EYESPI connector allows quick interfacing using just SPI and I2C interfaces.
Extensive tutorials are available for wiring, testing, and example code. There are open source graphics libraries for both 8-bit and SPI modes, as well as a touch screen library supporting up to 5 multi-touch points.
