Description
This USB Type C cable adds a DB-9 (DE-9) serial port to your computer or laptop, compatible with MacOS X, Linux, and Windows.
It provides approximately ±6V serial (RS232) levels, making it ideal for connecting to older devices like GPS units, handhelds, and programmers with DB9 connectors. Unlike some cheaper RS232 cables that output 0-5V and may not work reliably with all devices, this adapter uses a true voltage doubler/inverter for compatibility.
These cables are tested and suitable for bit-bang serial programmers and adapters, though slower compared to hardware serial ports due to USB overhead.
