This mini HDMI decoder board is a compact and versatile solution for decoding HDMI/DVI video signals and driving TTL displays. Here’s a quick overview:
- Decoder: TFP401 from Texas Instruments, designed for decoding unencrypted HDMI/DVI video to raw 24-bit color pixel data.
- Resolution: Supports up to 1080p, with a pixel clock range of 25-165MHz.
- Power: Can be powered via a USB port. For a 5″ 800×480 display with a 50mA backlight current, it draws 500mA in total (370mA with half-brightness backlight, 250mA without backlight).
- Backlight Control: Includes a PWM input for controlling backlight brightness via your microcontroller.
- Versions: Available in two versions – this one is video only, while the other includes video + touch with a resistive touchscreen. The touch version uses USB for both power and data, and appears as a USB mouse.
- Compatibility: Designed for use with 40-pin TTL displays, including 4.3″, 5.0″, and 7.0″ displays. Best used with the 5″ or 7″ 800×480 displays due to resolution preferences.
- Video Source: Ideal for single-board computers (e.g., Raspberry Pi, BeagleBone Black) with HDMI/DVI output.
