This is not your average Hawse fairlead. The Factor 55 1.0 Aluminum Hawse Fairlead is CNC machined in the USA from a solid 1-inch thick 6000 series aluminum bar — not the wimpy 0.75″ fairleads most companies sell.
Why go thicker? Because larger outer radii reduce friction on your synthetic winch rope during hard-angle pulls. That means less wear, less heat, and a longer lifespan for your rope — especially when things get sketchy off-camber or during suck-down winching.
Also, if you’re running larger ½” rope tube thimbles, this fairlead’s taller slot is designed to let them pass cleanly — no snagging, no forcing, no sketchy jamming.
