Description

The Standalone Momentary Capacitive Touch Sensor Breakout (AT42QT1010) is the simplest way to integrate a momentary capacitive touch sensor into your projects without the need for a microcontroller. Power it with 1.8 to 5.5 VDC and touch the sensor pad to activate. When a capacitive load is detected, the built-in red LED lights up and the output pin goes high.

The breakout also includes a middle pad to which you can solder a wire to create a custom capacitive pad if the built-in one does not suit your needs. To conserve power, the LED can be disconnected by cutting the trace between the jumper labeled for this purpose. The device features a fast mode drawing about 0.5 mA, while an ultra-low power mode (~50 µA) can be set by modifying the mode jumper as described in the datasheet.

The product ships fully assembled and includes a small stick of 0.1″ header for easy breadboard integration. For additional contacts, copper foil can be used with a wire soldered from the foil pad to the breakout.
