Description

The Adafruit 12V Bias Voltage Boost Converter utilizes the TI TPS61040 chip to generate a stable 12V DC output from an input voltage as low as 2V up to 6V. This compact booster is ideal for applications requiring a small amount of 12V current, such as powering OLED displays, LED string backlights, or reprogramming FLASH or EEPROM memories.

Note that this boost converter is not meant for high-power applications like solenoids, motors, or long LED strips, as it provides a maximum output current of approximately 40mA.

The breakout board comes fully assembled with the TPS61040 chip, passive components, and a small length of header pins. Simply supply 2 to 6V DC to the IN and G round pins, and you will get 12V on the 12V output pin. The Enable (En) pin can be pulled low to disable the output.

Features:

  • Generates 12V output from 2-6V input using TPS61040 chip
  • Output current up to ~40mA suitable for biasing OLEDs and small loads
  • Compact dimensions: 15.2mm x 10.0mm x 2.9mm (0.6″ x 0.4″ x 0.1″)
