The TLV493D 3-axis magnetometer is a compact sensor designed to detect magnets in three dimensions. Ideal for applications like joystick creation or detecting objects with attached magnets, this sensor provides precise magnetic field measurements.
Key features include:
- Digital output via 2-wire standard I2C interface up to 1 MBit/sec
- 12-bit data resolution for each measurement direction
- Bx, By, and Bz linear field measurement up to +130 mT
- Excellent matching of X/Y measurements for accurate angle sensing
- Onboard voltage regulator and logic level shifting support both 3.3V and 5V logic microcontrollers
- SparkFun Qwiic compatible STEMMA QT connectors enable solderless connections
The sensor is not sensitive enough to detect the Earth’s magnetic field, so it is not suitable as a compass. However, it excels at tracking nearby magnetic fields in three dimensions for innovative projects.
The breakout board measures 25.4mm x 17.8mm x 4.6mm and weighs 1.8g.
