Adafruit MP3 Music Maker Shield for Arduino

Description

Bend all audio files to your will with the Adafruit Music Maker shield for Arduino! This powerful shield features the VS1053 codec chip capable of decoding a wide variety of audio formats including MP3, AAC, Ogg Vorbis, WMA, MIDI, FLAC, WAV (PCM and ADPCM). It can also record audio in both PCM (WAV) and compressed Ogg Vorbis formats.

Audio settings such as bass, treble, and volume can be adjusted digitally. The shield uses a lightweight SPI interface allowing any Arduino to play audio from an SD card. It also includes a built-in MIDI synth/drum machine mode that reads classic 31250Kbaud MIDI data and acts as a synth/drum machine with dozens of built-in effects.

Note: This version only provides stereo line/headphone output. For projects requiring louder output, a version with a 3W/channel class-D stereo speaker amplifier is available.

Includes one fully-assembled and tested shield, 2 2-pin terminal blocks, 0.1″ male header, and 2×3 female header for ICSP connection. Requires light soldering to attach headers and terminal blocks. Speakers, headphones, SD card, and Arduino board are not included.
