Drown out the voices in your head with a bone conduction transducer! This innovative speaker does not use a traditional moving cone; instead, a small metal rod wrapped with a voice coil vibrates when current passes through, causing a metal piece to expand and contract. When pressed against a flat surface or cavity, it transforms that surface into a speaker.
Commonly used pressed against the jaw or ear bone, it converts the skull into a speaker cavity, producing clear sound audible only to you. It can also be pressed against other bones, such as the elbow, transmitting audio through your body. Being air-independent, it works well even underwater when encapsulated, making it suitable for waterproof headphones.
For prolonged skin contact, we recommend covering the transducer and wires with a material such as Sugru to prevent accidental shorts due to sweat and electrolytes.
This lightweight transducer has 8 ohm impedance and operates at approximately 1 watt. It pairs perfectly with various audio amplifiers like the TS2012 or MAX98306. It comes with wires pre-soldered for easy connection.
