Description

Add affordable heat-vision to your projects with the Adafruit MLX90640 IR Thermal Camera Breakout featuring a narrow 55°x35° field of view. This sensor has a 24×32 array of infrared thermal sensors, delivering 768 individual temperature readings over I2C.

Measuring temperatures from -40°C to 300°C with an accuracy of ±2°C (in the 0-100°C range) and a maximum frame rate of 16 Hz, it’s ideal for human detection, mini thermal cameras, and more. The sensor reads data in a checker-board pattern twice per frame, which may cause a checker-board dither effect during motion.

The breakout includes a 3.3V regulator and level shifting, compatible with any 3V or 5V microcontroller or computer. STEMMA QT connectors provide solderless plug-and-play compatibility with compatible cables.

Example code and libraries are available for both Arduino and Raspberry Pi in Python, making integration straightforward.
