Description
Easy e-paper finally comes to your Feather, with this breakout designed to make it easy to add a monochrome eInk display. Featuring a 2.13″ monochrome (black and white) display with 250×122 black pixels on a white-ish background, this FeatherWing is compatible with all Feather microcontrollers, from the ESP8266 to the M0.
The display provides high-contrast, daylight-readable images that remain visible even when power is disconnected, simulating printed paper.
This FeatherWing includes built-in memory buffering, allowing it to work with chips as small as the ’32u4 and ‘328. It uses the 3 SPI pins and up to 4 control pins to manage the SD card slot and SRAM.
To address memory limitations, a small SRAM chip is included on the back, sharing the SPI port with the display. This eliminates the need for frame-buffering in memory-constrained microcontrollers. The included library supports easy interfacing with the display as an Adafruit_GFX compatible device.
A MicroSD socket allows for storage of images, text files, and more. The board ships assembled and tested, with socket headers for easy Feather integration without soldering.
